Part of the 2009 State of Design Festival, Melbourne

Boyd School Studios, Southbank

As part of the ongoing General Assembly collaborative jewellery project, Studio Hacienda presented both the Melbourne and Canberra jewellery series together the first time. Visitors listened to a project overview, viewed demonstrations of parts being made and we are able to purchase their own souvenir brooch, assembled on the spot. This presented an exclusive opportunity to be a part of this award-winning project and invest in the cultural life of Melbourne. The event can be viewed on youtube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NdZx8_4CJUI

February 2009 Yom Hashoah Ritual Sash has been acquired by the Corning Museum of Glass.

"I am so pleased that Yom Hashoah Ritual Sash is a part of the collection of The Corning Museum of Glass. What I appreciate most in all forms of art in glass--even in jewellery-- is the idea, the content. I was immediately drawn to Blanche's work for its consummate craftsmanship and well thought-out and sensitive concepts. Her objects adorn, but they are also suffused with meaning." Tina Oldknow, Curator, Modern Glass, Corning Museum of Glass
January 2009 Blanche was included in The Age (melbourne) magazine Top 100 issue, in the category of Design and Technology
